The most common size dumpster rented varies depending on the specific needs of the customer and the nature of the project. However, the 20-yard dumpster is often considered the most popular size. This dumpster can accommodate a variety of projects, including home cleanouts, small renovations, and medium-sized construction projects. It offers ample space while still being compact enough to fit in most driveways or job sites.
The smallest size dumpster typically available for rent is a 10-yard dumpster. This size is perfect for small-scale projects such as cleaning out a small basement or garage, disposing of yard waste, or renovating a single room. It can hold approximately 3 pickup truck loads of debris and has dimensions of around 12 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4 feet tall. However, it's important to note that dumpster sizes may vary depending on the rental company.
Dumpsters are commonly measured in yards because it provides a standardized unit of measurement for the volume or capacity of the container. The term "yard" refers to a cubic yard.
Using yards as a measurement for dumpsters allows for easy comparison and understanding of their size and capacity. It helps customers determine the appropriate dumpster size needed for specific projects, such as construction, renovations, or large-scale cleanups.

A 10-yard dumpster and a 15-yard dumpster are both popular choices for waste disposal, but they differ in terms of size and capacity. A 10-yard dumpster typically measures 14 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4 feet high. It can hold up to 10 cubic yards of waste material, which is roughly equivalent to three pickup truck loads. This size is ideal for small-scale projects such as garage cleanouts, small remodeling jobs, or yard waste removal. On the other hand, a 15-yard dumpster is slightly larger, measuring 14 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4.5 feet high. It has a capacity of 15 cubic yards, which is approximately equivalent to four and a half pickup truck loads. This size is suitable for medium-sized projects such as basement cleanouts, kitchen renovations, or larger landscaping projects.
A 10 yard dumpster can typically accommodate small to medium-sized furniture items such as chairs, tables, dressers, small sofas, and mattresses.
